 Next up is Hillie!
 I'm currently a freelance makeup artist in San Francisco. Makeup
artistry combines my love of art & makeup and enables me to embrace my
creativity. When it comes to makeup, I strive to create a style perfect
for each of my client's desires & needs.  In my down time, I love spending
time with family and friends and exploring this beautiful city, which I'm so
fortunate to call my home.

 As a makeup artist, I love that I have the ability to brighten
someone's day and make them feel beautiful.  I live for those moments when
my clients' faces light up after I'm done with their makeup and they just
can't seem to pull themselves away from the mirror. It literally warms my
heart!

 The toughest part of being a makeup artist is the inconsistency in hours
and when you work. Job opportunities can be sporadic, but when you do work
the hours are long and physically taxing.

 Advice

**Have thick skin. *As an artist, you are subjecting your work to
criticism--good or bad. In order to make it in this industry, you have to
take the good with the bad. Not everybody is going to like you or you work
and that's OKAY.
**Hustle.* Nobody else is going to do the work for you. If you want
success, you have to go out there and make it happen.
**Be in the know*...about new products, new techniques, the newest trend,
etc.
**Know your worth.*  I remember when I first ventured out on my own as a
freelance makeup artist, I jumped at every opportunity anybody threw my
way.  I believe in hard work and putting yourself out there, but you have
to realize that some people will only use you for your talents without
benefiting you in any way. It's your job to pick and choose what you think
will really help you in the end.
