Featured Makeup Artist: Selda @nurmakeup

On my first official “Makeup Artist Featured”, I would like to introduce Selda known as @nurmakeup on the Instagram world and one of the popular Makeup Artists over there with close to 50,000 followers. To view Selda’s Instagram, please click here.

Selda responded to my e-mail consisting EYEMIMO’s standard Q&A as you can read below. Her answers are nothing but very inspiring.

Q: Tell us about yourself.
A: My name is Selda, I am a certified makeup artist and educator.  Also a cosmetologist.

Q: What do you like the most and the least being a Make-up Artist?
A: What I like most about being a makeup artist is that I don’t get to work a single day in my life since I’m doing what I love and have a passion for. I love being able to make someone feel so incredible about themselves even if it’s temporary. Knowing I made someone happy is priceless for me.

There isn’t anything I dislike about makeup. It’s my passion.  The only thing I wish I could see change is the COMPETITION between artists. We should all be supporting rather than competing.

Q: Do you have any make-up advice that you would like to share with us?
A: The one advice I give to everyone is DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. I see so many of my clients/students get so frustrated when practicing a certain technique because they think it has to be done how XYZ does it , When in reality we all have our own techniques that works for us. I tell them to STOP trying to do it like XYZ from YouTube and try doing it in a way that works for you with the tools you have. Once you let go of that pressure you will be amazed at what you can do. AND NEVER LISTEN TO A BAD REVIEW UNTIL YOU TRIED THE PRODUCT YOURSELF. I see so many people miss out on amazing products simply because someone said it didn’t work for them. When the reality is WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT and what doesn’t work for you might work for me. So my advice…BE YOUR OWN JUDGE.

Q: Is there anything else you want to share with us?
A: I would just like to add that EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL IN THEIR OWN WAY..so DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS BECAUSE SOMEONE OUT THERE IS WISHING THEY HAD WHAT YOU ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT.
